As well as being the summer of love, it's been the summer of the makeup primer. Half a dozen versions from the big cosmetic companies have landed on my desk in the past month. The magazines, makeup artists and beauty consultants are singing the primer's praises. Seems you shouldn't be wearing foundation without it - like you're not supposed to use moisturiser without first applying a serum. Stuff and nonsense or have you been converted?

Meh, I'm still torn about primer. Maybe it's because I haven't found one I really like/that really seems to make a difference?

I alternate between Becca SPF 30, Modelco FAce Base, Smashbox (I use the original and the peach) and Laura Mercier. I love them all. Asking me to choose a fave would be like choosing a favorite child.

I love primer too. My faves are BECCA Mineral SPF30+, and Clarins ISPT.

Oh yes... the Clarins one is great too! That's the one I got my mum on to and she loves it.
