Update us on your Ordinary experiences!

So everyone has gone “The Ordinary” crazy over the past month. And I would LOVE to hear everyone’s experiences.
What did you love, like and hate?
What worked, didnt work and what have you changed?

I purchased an extensive range of products. But first I have the say my all time favourite product has to be The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer.
It feels so light, and gives my face a beautiful matte look all day! Definitely a winner for the result and the price

I agree about that primer! I used it last week just on it’s own, applied it and went past the mirror half an hour later and thought I almost looked airbrushed - it was incredible! And went out spent quite a bit of time in the sun and when I got home I was still matte; no oil anywhere!

I’ve bought HA, Buffet, Niacinamide, NMF, Vitamin C 23%, the primer and Hylamide Matte 12. I’ve only used the Niacinamide twice, maybe three times as I’m just a bit wary of breakouts as lots of people have stated and I’m giving the other items a really good chance to see if there’s any noticeable difference but I love everything! The HA is great at plumping the skin and making fine lines less obvious. I’ve now started using the vitamin C every second night (I use Retinol Serum from skinstitut on the alternate night) and I LOVE it. I wasn’t sure I would as so many complain about the texture or burning but after 4 or 5 uses I am now just getting a slight tingle that only lasts 10 minutes. I read that applying Buffet, or HA before hand can reduce the burn so I’ve done that a couple of times and it does. I only use a small amount, the grit doesnt bother me and for those that hate it apparently you can mix it with moisturiser or HA to reduce the gritty texture. After 15 minutes or so my skin feels smooth and normal and not longer gritty. The following morning my skin just looks brighter so I’m excited to see my skin after a couple of months.
The Hylamide matte is great for people with oily skin. You apply it as the final step of your makeup, just a small amount patted on and it keeps you matte all day! I was a bit wary as I’ve never used a product like that before, that goes on last but it really is a wonder.
Not sure if Buffet is making a difference or not, I’ve started just mixing a few drops with a few drops of HA and smoothing all over my face, neck and chest, and I mix a few drops of HA with the moisturiser just to make it go on easier and a little further.
So basically, I love it all!! I think my next purchase will be a peel which I’ve never used in my life so I’m a little wary but very excited, and the salicylic acid for spot treatment. I’m still using a cleanser by Skinstitut, but other then that The Ordinary can take all my money!!
*and I created a post elsewhere, but I hope @AdoreBeauty start offering the stickers that help identify Am/Pm, once a week etc for us to use like another site does, and the little info booklets as I think that sounds great!!

@kyliecavanough I have been using Niacinamide every morning and every night along with Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, then I pop on the Primer. And my skin is looking so fresh! So much so I am only wearing tinted moisturizer to work everyday. That is unheard of for me.
I did have a small break out at the beginning but havent had anything since

There are a few nights I have popped Retnoid on, as well.
I also have the Vitamin C, but I haven’t really used it because I use the Niacinamide.

I too would love to try a peel. I received Philospphy peel as a sample with my last order. I haven’t used it yet, but plan to give it a go as I have heard amazing things about it.

I’m going to try and use it every second morning and see how I go. I keep reading everyones routines on the facebook group and get so confused about which products for my issues, so I think I’m going to email Deceim and ask and stop trying to figure it out myself.

Does niacinamide makes ur skin dry? I had tightness and dryness. I m waiting to hear from Shannon_staff. I don’t know if I should use the product or not. I had few acne too

My skin feels plump and soft. I dont have any dryness. The Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I use with it is moisturizer though. I have never used the product on its own.
In saying that @Inquisitive.me I would wait for professional advice from @Shannon_Staff because from reading other posts I see you do have issues with sensitive skin. So best you get a consult from someone who fully understands ingredients in these products before using.

That sounds like a good way to go Kylie! I am using routine suggest by CEO on the forum the other month. So I had some guidance there.

Yes, I have been waiting to hear from them. It’s been long

@christined @KateMorrisCEO might be able to help.
Shannon might be away on holidays.

Shannon is on holidays! I’ve called on one of the other Adore staffers to come and answer ASAP

Hey there! I’d be happy to help - I work as the skin specialist on our customer service team

The Niacinamide + Zinc is pretty gentle on sensitive skin (I’m sensitive myself, and sahara level dry, but I also suffer hormonal breakouts and my pores are genetically large and in charge). I would definitely recommend mixing the Niacinamide with a serum that will help to buffer it, like the Hyaluronic Acid - and use your moisturiser on top, if you’re currently using one.

I’d also recommend using the Niacinamide a couple of times a week at first - I built up my usage from a couple of times a week to about every second or third day, which I found is a good balance for a more sensitive skin. I wouldn’t go in twice daily to start off with, otherwise you might find you’re experiencing a bit of tightness.

Hope this helps! If you have any questions, tag me and I’d be happy to help

Thank u so much for your response. I don’t have a serum . I bought
niacinamide and the moisturising factors from ordinary. Shall I use
niacinamide twice week to start with? Or should I purchase a serum as well?

Hehe i feel exactly same as u @kyliecavanough, all the way i get confused which product to use and which not to use. it better to do try and experience on own.:sunglasses:

uh oh this might have to be my next Ordinary purchase @kyliecavanough!

Ok so I have the Buffet serum. At first I was just enjoying it more as a daily moisturising serum to pop under my mineral makeup but after using it for about 3 weeks now I swear my skin feels smoother and plumper in general. It’s so soft! Mind you I have also been using the Dermalogica Superfoliant as part of my cleansing routine and I think this has helped with my pores as well.

I also added the Ordinary Vitamin C to my routine about 4 days ago to try and fade away pigmentation. I just add it to the pigmented spots on my face in the evenings. Haven’t noticed a real difference yet but it’s early days so I’ll keep you updated!

@kyliecavanough perhaps @alexandraraymond can help you with your questions about Ordinary regime! She noted she is skin specialist for Adore!! :star_struck:

@christined my Dermo told me the longer you’ve had your pigmentation the longer it takes to fade - so if it’s reasonable recent it will go fairly quickly but for long time pigmentation like mine is - it’s gonna take a while - but I can see that it’s breaking up and lightening - just need to be super vigilant with my sunscreen.

@annettebisinella I’m a big fan of TO primer as well - my makeup sits beautifully over it

@tinamiller thats great info to know about pigmentation. Because I have some I have dubbed as stubborn. But time is of the essence based on your info. So thank you for that!
And yes I love popping that primer on every morning. Makes me feel amazing!

If you’re prone to feeling tight and dry, I think the Hyaluronic Acid is a fantastic purchase anyway - however if you want to go ahead with what you’ve got there, I’d start with the Niacinamide twice a week at first.

Can you recommend a good cleanser pls?
